Covers
Covers
F.R.P. covers are usually used for aeration tanks or chemical tanks due to its lightweight, durability and weather resistant characteristics. In the early years, most industrial wastewater and effluents treatment facilities were open-air type without covers. As a result, large amounts of ozone used for the treatment of wastewater or effluent and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) were often emitted into the atmosphere. With increased environmental awareness and the promulgation of the “VOC emission control standards” environmental policy, new treatment facilities are required to be fitted with covers to prevent hazardous gas emission. Dar Jia has accumulated sophisticated expertise in F.R.P. cover designing and manufacturing, therefore we are able to carry out environmental design and planning based on the clients’ varying needs and the shape of their facilities. So far, the largest projects we have undertaken are 25m diameter dome shaped cover design and 45m wide x 50m long aeration tank cover.

Large storage tank (25m diameter) cover design

During the treatment of industrial water wastewater, ozone or VOCs produced are emitted to the atmosphere, in turn jeopardizing the health of people and Mother Nature. In order to prevent the emission of hazardous gases such as VOCs, airtight covers must be designed for the treatment facilities. In this example, Dar Jia has designed a dome shaped cover in accordance with the client’s specifications, where software stress analysis was conducted using limited elements to examine whether the structural stress has exceeded tolerance after taking on different loads, or whether the safety coefficient is insufficient. Furthermore, experiments and tests are conducted with a prominent university in Taiwan, and the results not only conform to strength standards but also satisfy the client’s requirement for a 25m diameter dome shaped cover.

We were commissioned to manufacture and install a wastewater treatment tank cover for a well-known petrochemical plant in southern Taiwan. Supported by stainless steel structure, the challenging installation requires professional technical planning, design and manufacturing skills.
